Introduction
A new year means a new set of exciting experiences for current Lambda Chi’s at WSU and several more opportunities for alumni to stay connected with their old house. My name is Andrew Talevich and I was recently elected as High Rho or alumni chair. Previous High Rho, Maclaen Tamminen now serves as High Tau or treasurer. I am a junior this year, majoring in public relations. It is my honor to serve this position.
Goals for this Year
I believe we share something truly special. Alumni and current brothers are connected through experiences at the same house but in different periods of time. Above all else we are bonded by our commitment to Lambda Chi Alpha. Tau Zeta could not exist without alumni support and the house could not continue without the sacrifices put forth by current members. My goal is to strengthen that bridge between current and previous members through communication and interaction. With your help the Lambda Chi legacy will continue to live on at WSU.
Upcoming Events
In the next two months Tau Zeta will be hosting two events for their alumni. These events are the WSU Greek Centennial and Homecoming weekend. Alumni are strongly encouraged to take part in these activities. During these events alumni can meet current brothers, catch up with fellow alumni and check out the renovations to the Tau Zeta house. Please RSVP if you will be attending either of these events by e-mailing me at tauzetarho@gmail.com.
Greek Centennial
The first event is the WSU Greek Centennial. The purpose of the Greek Centennial is to celebrate one hundred years of the Greek tradition at WSU. This is a weeklong celebration that goes from Monday September 14th to Sunday September 20th. The Center for Fraternity and Sorority Life will be hosting a centennial banquet on Friday, September 18th. This banquet will be held from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Schweitzer Event Center. Tickets cost $30. To buy tickets or find out more about the Greek Centennial visit their website at:

To coincide with the Greek Centennial, we are interested in hosting a brunch for visiting alumni at the Tau Zeta house on Sunday morning, September 20th. The brunch is tentative at the moment because we are unsure how many alumni will be visiting for the Greek Centennial. If you are interested in attending the brunch please RSVP ASAP so we can put it together.
Homecoming Weekend
Homecoming is perhaps one of the most celebrated events in the Greek community. The week centers around the WSU, ASU football game on Saturday, October 10th. There will be a barbeque at the Tau Zeta house at 11 a.m. before the game. This is a great opportunity to relive a tradition that has long been a part of the Greek community.
Renovations, Work Week
Upon returning to WSU for work week Lambda Chi’s were delighted to see new renovations to the house. These renovations included hardwood floors and ceilings on first deck, new outdoor entry stairs, benches in the chapter room, improvements on the parking lot, and a paint job for the outside of the house. However, the work did not stop there. Each member spent the better part of a week performing tasks such as sanding and improving the dinner tables, planting shrubbery, constructing ladders for the fire engine, and repainting the stairwells and second deck hall. The Lambda Chi house has the same old feel but a sleek new look. Pictures of the renovations and work week can be found on the WSU Lambda Chi Website at:

Last Word
To continue the strong tradition of Lambda Chi at WSU, Tau Zeta is always looking for feedback from alumni. There is currently a facebook group that allows alumni to stay connected with Tau Zeta. This group is called: “Washington State Lambda Chi’s”
Alumni are also urged to share feedback through e-mail at: tauzetarho@gmail.com
Furthermore it is always great to feature material from alumni in Tau Talks. If you are interested in sharing about lessons and experiences from Lambda Chi please send me an e-mail.
